As a school, we are committed to providing your child with the same education as those children who are still attending school and thank you for your continued support in these difficult and ever changing circumstances.

Nursery & Reception Remote Learning
As a school this year we have introduced ‘Evidence Me’ as part of evidence, assessment and reporting procedures for Early Years. It shows the impact of children’s learning by capturing learners’ experiences, monitoring their development, and creating reports to share their progress. We are asking parents to submit their child’s learning through the ‘Evidence Me’ platform, this will allow your child’s teacher to continue to build their individual learning journeys even though your child may not be in school at this time. Key worker parent should also access the ‘Evidence Me’ platform to share any learning experiences their child has at home.
We understand your children are very young and therefore will need more support when accessing ‘Remote Learning’. If they have younger or older siblings who you are also supporting or you are working from home we do understand this may be difficult for you. The activities Mrs Bennett and Miss Rooney are setting are ones that are enjoyable but also help to move your child’s learning forward and we encourage you to access as many of these opportunities as possible; however, at this age children learn through play so all play activities will be beneficial. If you think an opportunity presents itself that isn’t planned for by your child’s class teacher please feel free to also submit this through ‘Evidence Me’, e.g. riding a bike for the first time, commenting on the buds growing on the trees, role-play with another sibling – all of these are valued learning experiences too.
The most important area of learning that parents should focus on at home is reading – make this an enjoyable experience where you and your child can share some special time at any time of the day. Building up a bank of traditional tales and nursery rhymes is especially important with children of this age and encouraging your child to ‘join in’ or retell these will be of great benefit.

Years 1 to 6 Remote Learning
Our ‘Blended and Remote Learning’ will operate through Google Classrooms for Years 1 to 6. This will be highly beneficial for the children learning from home during the current lockdown and facilitate learning for any child who needs to self-isolate moving forward. Google Classrooms will also be our learning platform going forward in the future for setting homework activities.
