The Wednesday Word shares the Gospel with families in a unique way; it is structured around the Sunday Gospel, because evidence shows that Gospel values help family relationships thrive. Every Wednesday a ‘word’, inspired by the coming Sunday’s Gospel, will be suggested for families to talk about in the home.
During our Key Stage Wednesday Word assemblies, teachers will share the Gospel and the word of the week with the children, exploring the meaning of the scripture and how the WORD can help us in our lives today.
The Wednesday Word Family Time leaflet is designed in a friendly way so that all family members feel included. Families can share the Gospel and explore the word of the week further through enjoyable activities and prayer. It is informative, enjoyable, and helps families maintain a special closeness.
This Week’s Wednesday Word: TRUST
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus tells his disciples not to be troubled, but to trust in him. He reassures them that he is preparing a place for them and reminds them that he is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Even when they feel unsure or worried, Jesus invites them to have confidence in him.
At home this week…
Talk together about who you trust and why. Then try this simple activity: write down one worry on a piece of paper, say a short prayer together, and place it somewhere special (like near a candle or prayer space) as a way of giving that worry to Jesus.
