Keeping our children safe during drop‑off and pick‑up times is a shared responsibility. Our school is located on a busy main road in a built‑up area, and we regularly receive concerns from local residents about unsafe and inconsiderate parking. These concerns include blocked driveways, damage to property, cars obstructing pavements, and dangerous driving that puts both children and adults at risk.
We kindly ask all parents and carers to support us in keeping the area around school safe and respectful for everyone.
Some important guidelines include:
- Do not park on double yellow lines. These areas must remain clear to maintain visibility and safe crossing points.
- Do not park on or obstruct pavements. Families with prams, wheelchairs or mobility needs must be able to pass safely.
- Do not park on or obstruct pavements. Families with prams, wheelchairs or mobility needs must be able to pass safely.
- Do not block residents’ driveways. Our neighbours must have access to and from their homes at all times.
- Do not manoeuvre or park in private parking areas. These spaces are for residents and authorised users only.
- Avoid parking in the bays directly outside school unless absolutely necessary. These areas become congested quickly and can create hazards for children crossing.
- Do not park close to or obstruct any junction. This restricts visibility and increases the risk of accidents.
- Ensure your vehicle leaves enough space for emergency vehicles to pass. Congested roads can delay critical response times.
- Keep your speed low at all times near school. Children may be crossing unexpectedly, especially during busy periods.
Alternative Parking
There is ample free parking at Burntwood Leisure Centre, just a short walk from the school gates. Using this car park helps reduce congestion and improves safety for everyone.
