Pilgrims of Hope Jubilee 2025

The Holy Father, Pope Francis, has decided that 2025 will be a year of Jubilee, something which happens every 25 years.

The theme is “Pilgrims of Hope”, and is a year of hope for a world suffering the impacts of war, the ongoing effects of COVID-19 pandemic, and a climate crisis.

The Jubilee Year is a landmark moment in the life of the global church. Our school community has been invited by Pope Francis to join together as pilgrims of hope, pledging to work together for God’s kingdom of justice, peace and love

Part of this was used in the BDES Year of the Jubilee Launch event on 24th January 2025, which our school part in with all Catholic Primary & Secondary schools in the Archdiocese of Birmingham.

Look out for our ‘Doors of Hope’ coming soon, which will be used for our whole school pilgrimage in Spring term 2.

Pope Francis has asked us to be signs of hope for others. He encourages us to put Catholic Social Teaching into action through caring for our common home and supporting our sisters and brothers who are experiencing war, hunger or poverty. We know that the world is facing many of these challenges. By joining together with millions of others in this Jubilee Year, we can help to bring the light of hope and the message of God’s love to every part of the world.
